Egypt is the cradle of a deep-rooted civilization whose history goes back to more than five thousand years. It is the museum of history and the melting pot of the greatest civilizations throughout the ages. On its land the Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Christian and Islamic civilizations flourished. Alexandria

The largest port in Egypt and the greatest summer resort in the Middle East. Located on the Miditerranean Sea north west of Delta, 225 KM from Cairo by agricultural road and 221 KM by desert road. Named after Alexander the Macedonian who ordered its foundation in 332 B.C., on the site of a small village called Rhakotis to be the capital of his reign in Egypt, a port near to his country and a Greek cultural center. Since its foundation Alexandria remained for many centuries a center of cultural radiation in the whole world. It occupied a remarkable place in the history of mankind. Today Alexandria is considered the second capital of Egypt. It is distinguished by its strategic location, moderate climate and its beautifully fine sandy beaches which covers a large area between Agamy in the west and Abu Qeir in the east which make it worthy of its well merited title "Pearl of the Mideterranean".

Abu Simbel

Once the ancient kingdom of Kush. Nubia houses archaeological sites of great interest: temples, fortresses and tombs. The construction of the high dam posed a great danger of overflooding the temples of Philae, Kalabsha and Abu Simbel. The Nubians still retain their customs, traditions, language and architecture. One can enjoy a cruise in Lake Nasser by boats to explore the New Nubia after relocating the flooded temples.


Aswan

Situated on the eastern bank of the Nile 899 KM south of Cairo. Aswan is considered the most beautiful winter resort not only in Egypt, but also in the whole world as it is distinguished by its fascinating nature and serenity far from the bustle of cities, and its warm weather which is characterized by dryness and sunshine throughout the year. One can spend a pleasant time wandering along the Nile corniche where the sandy tourmaline desert merges with granite rocks around aquamarine isles covered with palm trees and plants. One can also take a Nile cruise with sail-boats at sunset or a tour in the market which abounds in handicrafts, local products, spices and perfumes.

Cairo

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa. A cosmopolitan city that blends charm of the east with a mediterranean flavour which accomodates 26% of the Egyptian population. It is a melting pot where antiquities of pharaonic dynasties, Graeco- Roman civilization, Christian and Islamic landmarks co-exist. A dynamic city proud of its warm and friendly people known for their traditional hospitality. On the Moqattam hills extending on the east bank of the Nile rises Salah al-Din Citadel towering and awe inspiring. At its base extend hundreds of splendid mosques and Islamic monuments.


Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh has a reputation as one of the world’s best vacation spots due to its warm sunshine summers, cool breeze winters, and diversity of activities and attractions, varying from camping in the desert to viewing the world's most remarkable underwater scenery thus allows only a few resorts compete.


Hurghada

The city was founded in the early 20th century, and since the 1980s has been continually enlarged by Egyptian and foreign investors to become the leading seashore resort on the Red Sea. Holiday villages and hotels provide aquatic sport facilities for sailboarders, yachtsmen, scuba divers and snorkelers.




Luxor

Luxor is considered the greatest outdoor museum in the world, it contains nearly one third of the world's antiquities. There is hardly a place in Luxor which has not a relic that reflects the greatness of the ancient Egyptians and their civilization that dates back to seven thousand years ago. Luxor is part of ancient Thebes that the renowned Greek poet Homer described as the city of one hundred gates. The Arabs called it "Luxor" - the city of palaces - because they were impressed by its magnificent edifices and huge buildings. Luxor is 670 KM south of Cairo. It remained the seat of power from 2100 to 750 B.C.
